Four letters. One of them had another job to do.

LTB.a wanted an identity that reflected a thoughtful, personal approach to architecture. Keeping the abbreviated name made sense, but it left us with a practical puzzle: how could those letters become something recognizable in a tiny profile picture? We turned the “a” into a house-like symbol. It completes the name beside LTB and works on its own when space is tight.

The proposed direction paired that small moment of character with restrained typography, tactile print materials and a website concept that let the architecture lead. The broader strategy focused on the founder’s approach to living and designing homes as personal retreats.

The challenges

  • Keeping an abbreviated name while giving it more character.
  • Creating a recognizable symbol for small applications and social profiles.
  • Reflecting the founder’s personal approach to architecture.
  • Presenting the work with clarity, warmth and a consistent visual system.

What we did

  • Transformed the “a” into an abstract house-like symbol that completes the name and stands alone.
  • Developed a restrained identity and print concepts around that wordmark and symbol.
  • Proposed a personal, first-person voice and website direction centered on homes as retreats.

The client chose to keep his existing identity. We still believe this direction deserved a life outside the presentation, so here it is. Some ideas are worth sharing even when they don’t get the green light.
