Blanc was already deeply personal to Kelly and Willy before they ever owned it. It was the event space where they were married, so when they had the chance to purchase it themselves, the brand needed to feel worthy of that story. The challenge was that the space didn’t really have a distinct identity, and what existed felt more contemporary than the building itself. We wanted to bring some of its history back in without making it feel dated, overly bridal or too precious. French ironwork became an early point of inspiration, giving us something architectural, romantic and slightly old-world to build from. We also used the idea of something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue as a loose framework for a series of hand-drawn details throughout the identity, including an illustration based on Kelly and Willy’s own wedding rings. The result feels personal without becoming sentimental, historic without feeling old, and like the brand has finally found a face that belongs to the place.
